Mumbai

On January 18, 2019, as a part of this year’s Asia Arts Game Changer Awards India, Akbar Padamsee was honored at a special felicitation ceremony during Mumbai Gallery Weekend at the historic Pundole Art Gallery. The intimate afternoon reception was followed by a discussion with Nancy Adajania, Homi K. Bhabha, Geeta Kapur, and Gieve Patel.

In attendance were Atul and Anju Dodiya, Saryu Doshi, Pheroza Godrej, Sangita Jindal, Akbar and Bhanu Padamsee, Sudhir and Shanta Patwardhan, and Dadiba and Khorshed Pundole.

Delhi 

On February 1, 2019, Asia Society India Centre and Asia Society Museum, New York, presented the third Asia Arts Game Changer Awards India in New Delhi, honoring artists Vibha Galhotra, Gulammohammed Sheikh, and Yang Yongliang.

Over 140 guests comprised of artists, academics, collectors, gallerists, and curators gathered to celebrate the occasion. The spectacular evening, co-chaired by Pheroza Godrej and Sangita Jindal, began with a live jazz performance by Jason Hammers and Pranai Gurung.

Some of the notable attendees included Nadir Patel, High Commissioner of Canada to India; artists Atul and Anju Dodiya, Arpita and Paramjit Singh, and Vivan Sundaram; and collectors Amal and Nissar Allana, Rajeeb and Nadia Samdani, and Padma Vattikuti.
