Maḏayin: Eight Decades of Aboriginal Australian Bark Painting from Yirrkala features masterpieces of ochre painting on eucalyptus bark, many of which have never been on view outside of Australia.
This view of the jar shows painted images in light and dark blues against grayish white background. around the largest central section of the jar and at the bottom. In the center is a crane who appears to have jumped from the tree branches towards flowers and plants at the bottom of the jar. The full moon sits above and in between the leafy tree branches.
