Inakshi Sobti, Chief Executive Officer
Inakshi is the Chief Executive Officer of the Asia Society India Centre. With extensive experience in education, research and business she is responsible for leading Asia Society’s mission and mandate in India and building a greater engagement across business, foreign policy and the arts between India, the rest of Asia and the US.
Prior to joining Asia Society she spent seven years with Harvard Business School’s India Research Centre leading Community Initiatives for them in South Asia. In this role she worked closely with HBS faculty, its South Asia Advisory Board and alumni to shape & implement the school’s strategy in the region and to deepen linkages with leaders in business, government and academia in South Asia. She curated and convened a series of conversations, conferences, research roundtables and led alumni delegations across South Asia making the HBS South Asia Centre an intellectual hub for academic and global expertise in the region. While at HBS, she also co-authored the center’s first case on Nepal, Chaudhary Group: Re-building Nepal as also a case on family business on the engineering company Thermax Ltd: Changing of the Guard.
Previously, she spent over 15 years with Citigroup India in its Corporate and Investment bank supporting senior corporate relationships over a spectrum of industries developing a comprehensive understanding of banking, credit and financial markets.
An alumnus from The Lady Shriram College, Delhi University and the London School of Economics, she is an avid reader and has a keen interest in art and aesthetics. Committed to inclusion and social enterprise, she serves as a mentor for a not for profit called Katalyst and has supported Ummeed and the Akanksha Foundation.

Akshay Mathur, Senior Director, Asia Society Policy Institute, New Delhi
Akshay Mathur is Senior Director, Asia Society Policy Institute New Delhi. He is responsible for the institute's policy mandate in India. His area of expertise is geoeconomics; specifically, his work focuses on international financial architecture, global trading systems, global economic governance and global digital governance.
Akshay is also concurrently a Non-Resident Senior Fellow with the Digital Economy Programme at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) based in Canada. He has previously led Mumbai-based, business-supported, independent foreign policy think tanks like Gateway House and Observer Research Foundation Mumbai.
He has written columns for Indian and foreign news publications, led Indian government-supported Track Two dialogues with other countries, published research for various Indian and global think tanks as well as convened and spoken at several Indian and global forums on international, domestic and local policymaking.
He represented India at the inaugural cohort of the Asia Global Fellows programme for mid-career leaders in the field of global policymaking hosted by the Asia Global Institute in Hong Kong in 2017 and the Georgetown University’s Young Leaders Forum in Qatar in 2012
Akshay has advanced degrees in policy, business and technology, specifically an MPA from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University as the Edward Mason Fellow, an MBA from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business with concentration in Finance and Business Analysis, and a B.S. in Computer Science from the Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Prof. C Raja Mohan, Non-Resident Distinguished Fellow, Asia Society Policy Institute
C Raja Mohan is a Non-Resident Distinguished Fellow, Asia Society Policy Institute, New Delhi — a division of the Asia Society India Centre. He is a Visiting Research Professor at the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS), National University of Singapore and was previously the Director of ISAS.
Mohan was the founding director of Carnegie India in Delhi, the sixth international center of Carnegie Endowment for Peace. He has been associated with several Indian think tanks, including the Institute of Defense Studies and Analyses and the Observer Research Foundation and served on India’s National Security Advisory Board from ’98-2000 and 2004-06. He also served as the Henry A. Kissinger Chair in Foreign Policy and International Relations at the Kluge Center, US Library of Congress, Washington DC, during 2009-10 and convened the India chapter of Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs, during 1995-2005. Earlier, Mohan was a Professor of South Asian Studies at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and the Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Singapore. He has published widely on India's foreign and security policies, Asian geopolitics, arms control, and global governance of new technologies. In his most recent, Mohan co-authored the Adelphi Book, The New Asian Geopolitics: Military Power and Regional Order published by the International Institute of Strategic Studies, London in 2021. He writes a column on international affairs for the Indian Express and the Foreign Policy.

Ketaki Varma, Director, Programmes
Ketaki is Director, Programmes at Asia Society India Centre, where she leads all programming efforts at Asia Society India Centre, designing and delivering multidisciplinary initiatives across business, art, policy, technology and gender to build long-term public and private engagement with the Centre.
Ketaki has years of experience in arts management, public programming and art writing. With cultural non-profit organisations like Serendipity Arts Foundation and Critical Collective, her work has been at the intersection of public programming; institutional strategy and governance; fundraising and partnerships; and communications. She is particularly interested in the visual cultures of South Asia and the creative ways in which they represent the social, economic, political and environmental life of the region.
She graduated with a Masters in Art and Cultural Management from King's College London.

Alekha Ranjitsinh, Associate Director - Strategic Initiatives and Development
Alekha is an Associate Director - Strategic Initiatives and Development at Asia Society India Centre. With a deep interest in developing the cultural and creative sectors in India and South Asia, she has previously worked as an arts administrator with organizations including the Art X Company, Festivals From India, Mumbai Gallery Weekend, Avid Learning, and the Kochi Biennale Foundation – where she headed education and community outreach, including the 2016-17 Students’ Biennale.
Alekha graduated with a BFA (Hons) in Visual and Critical Studies from the School of Visual Arts, New York and an MA in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy from Goldsmiths, University of London.

Rachna Shah, Manager: Operations and Finance
Rachna is the Manager: Operations and Finance at Asia Society India Centre. She is responsible for carrying out tasks involving finance, operations, human resources and administration for the India Centre and Asia Society Policy Institute, New Delhi.
Rachna has been working with the India Centre for more than 15 years. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Arts from the University of Mumbai.

Poornima Vaghadia, Finance and Administration Officer
Poornima handling Accounts & Finance and works as admin support with Rachna for India Centre and Asia Society Policy Institute, New Delhi.
She has years of past experience working with CA firms.
Mansi Vats, Office Administrator and Coordinator, Asia Society Policy Institute - Delhi
Mansi works with Akshay and the ASPI Delhi team. Her responsibilities at ASPI Delhi include administration and coordination, and she works closely with Rachna, who leads administration and finance for the India Centre.
Mansi completed her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Jesus and Mary College (University of Delhi). She later pursued a Master of Science at the École Supérieure de Commerce de Rennes in France. She has worked in Human Resources and International Mobility, focusing on Reward and Performance processes at Allianz Partners SAS in the headquarters in Paris, France.
Dr. Rishi Gupta, Assistant Director, Asia Society Policy Institute - Delhi
Dr. Rishi Gupta is Assistant Director at the Asia Society Policy Institute in New Delhi – a division of the Asia Society India Centre, Mumbai. He is a Visiting Fellow at the Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA), Kathmandu, Nepal.
Rishi was previously associated with the Vivekananda International Foundation and Center for Air Power Studies, New Delhi. He holds a PhD from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India, MPhil in Foreign Policy Studies from the Institute of Foreign Policy Studies, Kolkata, and MA in South Asian Studies from the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institute for South Asia Regional Cooperation (UMISARC) at Pondicherry University, Pondicherry. He was an Exchange Fellow at the Institute of South Asian Studies, Sichuan University, Chengdu, China. His areas of research interest include the Indo-Pacific, South Asian Regional Security, Himalayan Politics and India’s National Security. His research writings regularly appear on various national and international platforms.

Nishtha Singh, Associate Director - Climate
Nishtha Singh is the Assistant Director of Climate at the Asia Society Policy Institute, where her work primarily focuses on carbon pricing mechanisms across Asia and the advancement of the Just Transition Finance Mechanism in India.
Prior to her current position, she worked for over a decade towards addressing climate, environmental, and developmental challenges through her roles at various think tanks, consultancies, state governments, and as a social entrepreneur. Nishtha holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, an MBA in Strategy and Operations from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, and an MSc in Carbon Management from the University of Edinburgh.
Theres Thomas, Research Assistant - Indian Carbon Market, Asia Society Policy Institute
Theres works with Nishtha on Indian carbon markets. Her previous work experience has been in generating evidence and estimating the employment potential of climate action through nature-based solutions like seaweed cultivation, mangrove restoration, eco-tourism and more.
Before joining ASPI, Theres worked as a consultant at CEEW. Her responsibilities also included drafting a comprehensive roadmap for mainstreaming the green economy, which involved identifying the roles of various state departments and the private sector, as well as analyzing associated risks and challenges while proposing mitigation strategies. Theres also has prior work experience in working on the Emission Trading System for air pollution.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics (Hons) from DU and a Master’s in Public Policy from Kautilya School of Public Policy, where she specialized in Government and Society. Her master’s thesis delved into understanding the scope of Nature-based Solutions within the carbon market. Additionally, during her college years, Theres worked on producing and recording podcasts to discuss policy and amplify overlooked voices, sparking action, one episode at a time.
Outside of work, she enjoys watching world cinema, trying new cuisines, and swimming.
Taarini Savara, Programme Manager
Taarini is the Programme Manager for Arts and Culture at Asia Society India Centre. She leads Arts and Culture programming at the India Centre, and has extensive administrative and research experience in the arts sphere.
In the past, she has worked as an Administrator and Researcher with multiple art organisations including the Rubin Museum of Art (New York) and Serendipity Arts Foundation (New Delhi). While her interest in the arts spectrum is dynamic, her research has revolved around art accessibility and education initiatives. Taarini holds a Bachelors in Fine Arts from LaSalle College of Arts, Singapore and recently graduated with a Masters in Museum Studies from the University of San Francisco.

Ankita Ghosh, Programme Officer
Ankita is the Programme Officer for Arts and Culture at Asia Society India Centre. Her prior work experience includes assisting several organisations with design, documentation, creative communications, curation and research within the arts.
Ankita's postgraduate degree is in Media and Cultural Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai. Drawn to the arts because of its ability to creatively engage people, she is driven to contribute towards a public-oriented programming in the arts. Her last assignment before joining Asia Society India Centre was with Angus Montgomery Arts (India) and she was the Digital and Communications Manager for India Art Fair 2023.
Her work is motivated through in-depth research, creative programme development and strategic communications. Ankita’s research interests include exploring visual culture via everyday human experiences, gauging the state of the artisan economy in India and grasping the politics of documentary photography and filmmaking.

Shreya Ramachandran, Programme Manager: Business and Policy
Shreya is Programme Manager: Business and Policy at Asia Society India Centre. She leads Business and Policy programming, and her previous work experience includes extensive research on leadership.
Shreya has undergraduate and master's degrees in South Asian Studies, and her past work experience includes research at Harvard Business School and communications at Banyan Academy of Leadership in Mental Health (BALM). She is also a writer, and her first novel, 'The Worlds Within You' (Penguin India) came out in 2022.
Pavi Hundekari, Programme Officer: Business and Policy
Pavi Hundekari is the Programme Officer: Business and Policy at the Asia Society India Centre. She works with Shreya Ramachandran on Business and Policy programming.
Pavi studied History and Politics at Krea University, where she graduated with honours and was a Dean's List student.
Aradhana Dwivedi-Verma, Manager, Communications and PR
Aradhana manages communications, PR and social media at Asia Society India Centre. She works with Josanne and is responsible for communications strategy and social media.
Aradhana studied history at Delhi University. She has previously worked as an editor and a researcher. She briefly ran a bookstore in Mumbai.

Josanne Roberts, Social Media and Communications Officer
Josanne Roberts is a Social Media and Communications Officer at Asia Society India Centre. She works with Aradhana on the Centre’s social media and communication strategies and execution.
She has undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in English Literature, with her research focused on literary journalism and protest literature. Previously, she has also worked as a writer, content developer and community manager.
Shhreyaa Mande, Development and Outreach Officer
Shhreyaa Mande is the Development and Outreach Officer at the Asia Society India Center. She works with Radha Mahendru on outreach, development and membership.
Shhreyaa has completed her bachelor’s in political science (summa cum laude and with honors) from University of Toledo, Ohio, USA, and her master in political science, specializing in international relations from McGill University, Quebec, Canada. Her master’s research essay assessed the reasons for India’s partial engagement with the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda.
Rahul Jaybhay, Research Assistant
Rahul Jaybhay is a Research Assistant at the Asia Society Policy Institute, New Delhi. He is currently specializing in International Relations theories and Middle Powers’ strategies to manage the great power competition. He holds a Bachelor's in Economics from Fergusson College, Pune; and completed his graduate studies in Politics with Specialization in International Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Previously he has worked as a research assistant with Centre for Land Warfare Studies for a period of 6 months, focusing on the role of Artificial Intelligence in International Relations and the Indo-Pacific International Affairs. He has also published on platforms like Australia Outlook (AIIA), The National Interest, 9dashline, Lowy Institute (The Interpreter), CLAWS Issue Briefs.
