The Generation Asia Leadership Network
All About the Next Generation of Leaders
WHAT IS THE GENERATION ASIA PROGRAMME?
Leadership matters. In an Asia of transforming economic, geopolitical and social gravity, good leadership matters more. At Asia Society India, we care deeply about fostering leadership that works, which means supporting high-performing young professionals in acquiring the holistic skills and understanding they need to become these leaders in an Asia that is increasingly influential in the global community. The Generation Asia Leadership Network is Asia Society India's programme designed for rising leaders and executives looking to increase their Asia Competence (read more about Asia Competence here) with a community of their peers that take an interest in the Asia-Pacific. Successfully implemented by Asia Society Switzerland and Asia Society Australia, it is a learning, networking and leadership development platform designed for Corporate Members of Asia Society India Centre to develop leadership skills.
WHAT DOES THE GEN A PROGRAMME DO?
Our objectives with the Gen A programme are:
1. To create and grow a network of young, well-informed Asian leaders from Asia Society India's corporate members and beyond;
2. To make Asia Society accessible to a wider and dynamic group of young leaders;
3. To help corporate members and partners of Asia Society India Centre in identifying and supporting the next generation of Asian leaders.
Gen A members get access to exclusive roundtable conversations over the year, anchored by eminent leaders who have built strong, impactful careers in their field. Past speakers have included Jamshyd Godrej, Managing Director, Godrej and Boyce; Manisha Girotra, CEO, Moelis India; Ronnie Screwvala, co-founder, Swades Foundation and Rajdeep Sardesai (veteran journalist and author). In small, closed-door interactive sessions, Gen A members get to hear from and engage with leading industry experts, build leadership and critical engagement skills, and develop what we call Asia Competence. Gen A members also get access to Asia Society India’s programs through the year, and have the exclusive opportunity to interact with professionals who, like Gen A members themselves, are experts in various sectors and fields.
HOW DOES THE GEN A PROGRAMME WORK?
Intellectual curiosity and community are at the heart of all our initiatives at Asia Society India Centre, and the Gen A Network is no exception. The Gen A Leader is fundamentally curious; a curiosity that extends to geopolitics, business, policy, culture and every part of the world. They want to be among people with similar interests to build personal and professional networks across India and Asia. The ideal candidate for the programme is between the ages of thirty and forty, and a rising corporate executive with academic or professional experience in Asia.
Participation in the Gen A programme is exclusive to employees of corporate members of Asia Society India Centre. Each corporate member can nominate a select number of participants every year based on the membership tier they occupy. Candidates are nominated annually by their respective companies.
