Sangita Jindal, Chairperson of the JSW Foundation, strategizes and oversees social development projects within the JSW Group. The programs at the JSW Foundation span a wide range of interventions and focus on the holistic development of the girl child. From providing Skill Development opportunities to empowering women across India, through health, education and livelihood-oriented programs.
SW Foundation also works with the Government of India to devise strategies & programs to eliminate malnutrition in India. A philanthropist who believes in the transformative powers of art, Mrs. Jindal set up The Jindal Arts Centre (1992) at National Centre for Performing Art, Mumbai, India which became a hub of interdisciplinary arts activity. She also publishes the Art India Magazine which has been a chronicler of record of the Indian Art scene for over two decades.
Dr. Purnendu Chatterjee is the Founder and Chairman of ‘The Chatterjee Group’, a multi-billion-dollar global investment conglomerate headquartered in New York and the sponsor of ‘TCG Lifesciences Private Limited’. He founded TCG Lifesciences in 1998 and is responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance for the growth of the company. Dr Chatterjee has over 35 years of industry experience.
He is also a founder member of ‘Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and a member of the governing council of the ‘Public Health Foundation of India’. Prior to forming the TCG Group, Dr Chatterjee was an advisor to the Soros Fund Management and was responsible for over USD 3 billion in global investments. He holds a B. Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He also holds an M.S. and PhD in operations research from the University of California, Berkley.
Mr. Mihir J. (“Mickey”) Doshi is the UBS India Head. He is based in Mumbai. He is a member of the Asia Pacific Management Committee. Mr. Doshi has been instrumental in establishing Credit Suisse's India franchise, which today is active across Private Banking, and Investment Banking.
He has been deeply involved in strengthening the overall business profile of the Bank in India and in providing its strategic direction. Under his leadership, Credit Suisse has been awarded a banking license by the Reserve Bank of India and established a bank branch in Mumbai in 2011. Mr. Doshi is actively involved in Credit Suisse's corporate responsibility initiatives. He serves on the Board of JSW Foundation, Board of Asia Society and Board of Room to Read. In addition, he is a Trustee of Save the Children India and a member of the UN Women’s Business Sector Advisory Council. Before joining Credit Suisse, Mr. Doshi spent 22 years at Morgan Stanley in various capacities, primarily in New York, Tokyo and Mumbai. His last position was Managing Director and CEO of JM Morgan Stanley Securities Pvt. Ltd. and he is credited with building Morgan Stanley's presence in India. Mr. Doshi holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) from The New York University and a C. P. A. from The New York State, which he gained while working with Deloitte Haskins and Sells, New York.
Dr. Pheroza J. Godrej is an art historian and a PhD in Ancient Indian Culture. She founded the Cymroza Art Gallery and authored various publications and curated highly acclaimed exhibitions for leading National and International Museums. She is Chairperson of the Museum Society of Mumbai; former President of the National Society of the Friends of the Trees for 17 years, President Emeritus since 2016.
Dr Godrej is on the Executive Board of the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology (ATREE) and the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation; Trustee of Dr Bhau Daji Lad Museum and the Sea Cadet Corp India. Dr Godrej is the Chairperson of the Godrej Archives Council.
Mr. Sunil Mehta has over thirty-eight years of proven leadership experience in banking, financial services, insurance and investments with leading global and domestic financial institutions namely Citibank, AIG, SBI, PNB and YES Bank amongst others. Mr. Mehta worked with Citibank for over 18 years. where he has held various senior positions.
It covered operations, sales & risk process re-engineering, risk management, public sector business and corporate banking. As Country Head & CEO for AIG in India from 2000-2013, Mr. Mehta was responsible for all AIG businesses in India covering Insurance, Financial Services, Real Estate and Investments amongst other businesses. Subsequently, he started SPM Capital Advisors Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Mehta is the Chairman and Managing Director of SPM Capital Advisors Pvt. Ltd., a leading boutique business advisory and consulting firm in India. He also serves as the Non-Executive Chairman of Yes Bank Ltd. Mr. Mehta is closely engaged with various Think Tanks and Chambers of Commerce. He is currently on the India Advisory Board of the US India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and also serves on the Boards of United Way India and
Mumbai. A graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, he is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and an Alumni of the Wharton School of Management, University of Pennsylvania, USA.
Rashmi Poddar, Director, Jnanapravaha Mumbai (JPM) was awarded a doctorate for her thesis Rasa and Ananda - A Visual Discovery by the University of Mumbai in 1997. Under her guidance JPM is considered a leading para-academia institute that provides a space for the global exchange of creative Indian thought with several seminal courses in the fields of Aesthetics and Critical Theory.
The nearly 450 public programmes testify to her inter-disciplinary approach of melding art history and aesthetics with archaeology, architecture, anthropology, literature and philosophy. Her path-breaking methodology of viewing and understanding Indian classical art has opened up new theories in art history and research. She was the former Director of Aesthetics at the Department of Philosophy, University of Mumbai and was awarded the Paul Mellon Fellowship by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York in 1997. She has been the Associate Editor for Marg publications, India’s oldest art publishing house and was Chairperson, India Foundation of the Arts. She has taught and lectured nationally and internationally at universities and museums. She serves on several boards such as World Monuments Fund India, Asia Society India Centre, Mehli Mehta Music Foundation and Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation.
Jai Shroff is the Global CEO of UPL Limited. He is a well-recognized global leader in the Chemical & Agri-Inputs industry, with over 30 years of experience in India and internationally. He is actively involved in the global development agenda, including the World Economic Forum's Grow Africa and Grow Asia initiatives, IFPRI's Sustainable Agriculture and Global Food Security Initiative, WBCSD, Chicago Council, IGD and ICAR.
Mr Shroff is regularly invited to speak on conference platforms, covering sustainability, food security, climate resilience and technological innovation.
Manisha Girotra is Chief Executive Officer of Moelis India. Prior to joining Moelis, she was the Chairperson and Country Head of UBS in India with a career spanning of 32 years with UBS in London, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Delhi and with Moelis in India, where she was managing its investment bank, commercial bank, markets, equity research and wealth management divisions.
Previously, she was the Head – North India of Barclays Bank. She began her investment banking career at ANZ Grindlays in London. She has advised over US$ 500 Bn of mergers and acquisitions and equity and debt fundraisings through her career. Ms. Girotra has more than 30 years of investment banking experience, with extensive cross-border M&A expertise across a broad range of industries. She is on the Global Board of Naspers and Prosus, a US$ 200 Bn market cap technology investor. She is also serving as the Independent Director on the Boards of Ashok Leyland, Mindspace Business Parks REIT, Sona Comstar and is a Trustee of the Neurology Foundation & Trust. She represents the banking industry view-point on several panels of SEBI, CII, FICCI and other industry associations. Ms. Girotra holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Stephen’s College and received a gold medal for her master’s degree from the Delhi School of Economics. She is passionate about encouraging the younger generation of women to move forward in the corporate world. She was nominated in the 'Top 50 Women in Business' by Forbes & Business Today and was named one of the 'Top 50 Women to Watch' by The Wall Street Journal.
Abheek Singhi is a Managing Director & Senior Partner at Boston Consulting Group. He is currently the Chair of Practices at BCG India. In the past, Abheek Singhi has led Boston Consulting Group’s Consumer and Retail practice in Asia-Pacific and has been a member of the Global Practice Leadership Team. He was nominated as a BCG Fellow in 2016. Abheek has nearly 25 plus years of experience with clients across the globe.
Abheek has partnered closely with clients across various sectors in delivering transformative impact – both with large corporations as well as mid-sized organizations. He has deep experience in strategy development and execution. In recent years, he has worked closely with organizations to deploy the impact of digital technologies and analytics for their business.
Abheek has been a member of the National FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) Committee of CII. He is also a member of National council of RAI (Retailers Association of India). In these roles, he has worked to monitor the industry trends and shape industry-wide responses. He was also selected by the Aspen Ananta Institute as part of the India Leadership Initiative program and is a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. He has been named as Top 100 Retail minds in Asia Pacific Retail as well as Top 50 in Indian Fashion and Luxury.
Abheek is a coauthor of the bestselling BCG book The $10 Trillion Prize (published by Harvard Business Review Press). He has also written several seminal reports on the Asian consumer retail and digital and he is a frequent contributor to national and international publications and is a speaker at leading business conferences and seminars. He has contributed to and quoted in leading publications such as the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, The Economist, Economic Times, Mint, Times of India, Hindustan Times.
