A View on South Korea
VIEW EVENT DETAILSExecutive Round Table With Ambassador Linus von Castelmur [PASSPORT MEMBERS ONLY]
Switzerland and South Korea have entertained good relations since the end of the Korean War in 1953 – with a focus on entrepreneurship, science and technology. Thousands of Koreans visit Switzerland every year, and over 200 Swiss business operate in South Korea. In a time when a lot of attention is focused on China, what is the relevance of Swiss relations with South Korea? How does Switzerland engage? And what role is South Korea playing in an increasingly volatile region?
Asia Society Switzerland is delighted to invite Passport Members to an exclusive round table with the Swiss Ambassador to South Korea, Dr. Linus von Castelmur. After a doctorate in contemporary history, his diplomatic career began in 1990. Initially, involved in security policy in various functions, Ambassador von Castelmur later represented Switzerland in Budapest, Canberra, Copenhagen, Brussels, Congo/Gabon, India/Bhutan and currently in the Republic of Korea as of 2016.
