Advancing Peace and Prosperity in the Asia Pacific Region

VIEW EVENT DETAILS

Join the Asia Society Northern California in partnership with the Commonwealth Club to hear from the top U.S. diplomat for East Asia and the Pacific, Assistant Secretary of State Danny Russel, who will discuss how building strong regional institutions contributes to long-term peace and prosperity, and why an immediate freeze on provocative actions is essential for stability.

As the U.S. economy becomes increasingly intertwined with the economies of the Asia-Pacific region, regional tensions, particularly in the South China Sea, pose challenges for U.S. interests. Join Assistant Secretary of State Russel and moderator Philip Yun, Executive Director of the Ploughshares Fund, to learn how America can help reduce tensions and support long-term peace and prosperity in the region
