Insights From Navy Wardroom With Mark Tetto
On September 13, Asia Society Korea hosted a special event in collaboration with the Republic of Korea Navy at the Gyeryongdae Navy Headquarters. The event, known as the “Navy Wardroom,” is a lecture series aimed at enhancing the professional skills and knowledge of its personnel in a wide range of fields.
Since 2020, the Navy has been inviting experts from various domains including society, culture, policy, and technology to share their insights. The latest installment featured Asia Society Korea’s Board Member Mark Tetto as a guest speaker, who spoke on “The Importance of Korea's History and Spiritual Strength from a Foreigner’s Perspective.” He emphasized the profound history and beauty of Korea while highlighting the power of culture. Underscoring the essential role of the military in preserving the values of freedom and democracy, he urged the servicemen and women to embrace their role as protectors of the seas.
Adding significant meaning to the event, Mark Tetto donated the entire honorarium from his lecture to the “Sea Love Navy Scholarship Foundation."
