In this chamber music concert series on a weekly basis, young local artists will be under the spotlight. The program would be ranging from Romantic period to the Modern. It will be an intimate, up-close setting for a 45-minute music journey. Welcome all to bring lunchtime sandwich, expresso and come with friends and colleagues to enjoy a fine music interlude for a Happy Friday.
Nina Wong was the winner of the Cultural Affairs Bureau Prize in the 28th Macao Young Musicians Competition in 2010. She toured with the Asian Youth Orchestra in 2013 as the Concertmaster. She received her Master of Music degree and Bachelor of Music degree at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2014 and 2016, under the tutelage of Ivan Chan. Nina has worked with many different orchestras, including Hong Kong philharmonic Orchestra, Prazsky Komorni Filharmonie, and the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra.
Vivian Shen entered the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts to further her studies under Prof. Michael Ma in 2013 and graduated with first class honour, now in her second year of the Master of Music program. She performed as soloist in Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto at the National Concert Hall in Taipei in 2011 and with the Academy Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Sharon Andrea Choa in 2016.
Du Juan is currently studying with Mr. Ivan Chan, at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. In 2010, she won the third prize of the Hong Kong International Young Musician of the Year. In September 2013 she won the Xinghai Cup national Viola Competition organized by the Xinghai Conservatory of Music. At the same year, she was the semifinalist of the Stulberg International String Competition
Xu Ting received her cello training under Professor Long Man at the Wuhan Conservatory of Music and graduated as a Pre-college student. She was then admitted to The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a full scholarship and was awarded the First Class Honour with a Bachelor’s degree in 2015. Xu Ting also completed her Master’s degree studies with Distinction under the tutelage of Professor Ray Wang at the Academy in 2017.

Founded by Virtuoso Yao Jue BBS, JP., Hong Kong String Orchestra (HKSO) has achieved significant recognition locally and internationally for its “music uniqueness fusing Eastern and Western influences”. HKSO strives to expand musical horizon and promote new music, since its establishment, it has become a string orchestra with the best local strings elites in Hong Kong. Since 2013, the Orchestra has been enjoyed successful artistic collaborations with array of international musicians and groups, including Tan Dun, Sarah Chang, Qin Li-wei, Hayley Westenra, David Ehrlich, Andrés Cárdenes, Jay Liu, Suk Chamber Orchestra etc.
