Global Council
Background
The Global Council is a distinguished group of senior leaders from business, the arts, academia, civil society, and other sectors who serve in advisory roles to help Asia Society trustees and senior staff planning and program activities. For four decades, this important group has provided a unique network of high-level experts with on-the-ground experience and perspectives which serve to inform and broaden Asia Society initiatives globally. Originally established in 1979, the Global Council today numbers over 153 leaders representing more than twenty-six countries and regions.
Mission
The Global Council is a group of global leaders who are committed to furthering the mission of the Asia Society. Working together and through our own networks, we contribute ideas, advice, and resources that support the Asia Society's programs and initiatives, and strengthen the bonds between its 14 Global Centers.
