An Insider's Look at the APEC Leaders Summit
VIEW EVENT DETAILSThe Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders Summit will convene for the first time since 2011 in the United States this coming November. APEC’s mandate is to create a resilient and sustainable future for all while advancing broad-based economic prosperity in Asia Pacific. The multilateral organization is comprised of twenty-one Asia Pacific economies that account for approximately half of the world’s economy and 60 percent of its GDP.
On September 12, 2023, ASSC is privileged to announce a special APEC program from 11 a.m. to noon at the University of Southern California. At that time, the Chair of the 2023 APEC Business Advisory Council and Chairman/CEO of East West Bank Dominic Ng will participate in a fireside chat with USC Marshall School of Business Dean Geoff Garrett. 2023 Chair Ng, whose Business Council makes recommendations to the APEC leaders, will provide a preview of the November meeting to be hosted by President Joe Biden in San Francisco. In general, this ASSC fireside will focus on issues impacting Pacific Rim economies and American business communities. Namely, green jobs, digital economy, sustainability, and economic resilience and recovery will be discussed, among other topics. Given that public-private collaboration is the crux of APEC success, Chair Ng’s insights will be most compelling.
