Artist Leads Sign Language Tour and Workshop for Hearing-Impaired Participants
HONG KONG, June 6, 2015 – As part of the Asia Society Hong Kong Center Arts Assess Program, the Center organized a sign language workshop to engage hearing- impaired participants for a deeper understanding and appreciation of Yoshitomo Nara’s art. The tour was led by Ko Nam, Hong Kong artist who has experienced hearing impairments since childhood, who was able to provide insight and inspiration about the exhibited artworks. After the tour, participants created artwork with watercolor paint and crayons to respond to Nara’s art. Participants were encouraged to express their opinions and had an open discussion on the theme during the activity.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club presents “Life is Only One: Yoshitomo Nara” is the first major solo exhibition of the renowned Japanese artist in Hong Kong. The exhibition is runs until 26th July, 2015 at Asia Society Hong Kong Center.
