Asia Society Australia and RMIT Announce Strategic Partnership

Founded in 1887, RMIT is an international university of technology, design and enterprise. With a community of around 100,000 students and staff, RMIT has three campuses and two sites in Australia and two campuses in Vietnam, also offering many programs through partners in Asia. RMIT strives to become a leading university making an impact in the Asia Pacific Region.
In October 2021, a strategic partnership began which saw Asia Society Australia (ASA) co-locating to RMIT. As part of the agreement, a new Asia Trade and Innovation Hub (ATIH) was created in 2022, pathing the way towards a greater connection to Asia.
In 2025, RMIT University and Asia Society Australia's partnership was extended to 2028, with a focus on driving new and innovative ways to engage with Asia and grow Australia's Asia Intelligence. Reflecting the focus of the elevated partnership, the RMIT Asia Trade and Innovation Hub was renamed the RMIT Asia Hub.
The Asia Hub can be found in the heart of RMIT’s CBD campus on Swanston Street. Working as a digital and physical gateway for engagement with Asia, the Hub has produced a series of research roadmaps, designed to foster enhanced trade and investment in priority sectors and markets across the region.
This partnership represents a significant stride towards one of RMIT’s strategy to 2031, in creating collaborative networks across Asia. We’re looking forward to working together and seeing this partnership thrive.
