Skill Gap Issues in the 'ASEAN Five' (Complete)
SINGAPORE, November 13, 2015 — After addressing the employment challenges in China earlier this May, the Asia Society One Step Ahead Series November symposium focuses on the study of workforce readiness in the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) community, with a particular emphasis on the "ASEAN Five"— Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Regional business leaders, NGO leaders, government officials and academics share insights on the skill gap issues within the ASEAN Five and explore the possibility of universal primary education and vocational training being solutions to the challenge. Supported by J.P. Morgan, Singapore Business Federation and Singapore Management University, the half-day symposium hosted more than 200 guests. (2 hr., 53 min.)
