NEW YORK, May 12, 2025 — Asia Society’s Asia Arts Game Changer Awards honors composer Huang Ruo. In his acceptance speech, Ruo acknowledges the support he has received from Asia Society and expresses his desire to inspire other artists to compose operas. Selections from his latest operas, The Monkey King, and Bound, are performed by Soprano Fang Tao Jiang and pianist Stephen Buck.
