I Am Waiting For You and Memories embody Jordan Nassar’s interest in blurring the boundary between fine art and decorative art practices as a means to engage issues relating to authorship, gender, tradition, and the nature of sociopolitical conflicts. His focus on traditional Palestinian decorative motifs, which are embroidered in collaboration between the artist and female Palestinian artisans from the West Bank, exemplifies the breadth and nuance of Palestinian culture and the desire of many diasporic Palestinians to engage with their rich ethnic history.
