Workshop Addresses Mandarin Education
HOUSTON, November 14, 2014 — Asia Society Texas Center, in collaboration with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, hosted an educator workshop addressing innovations in Mandarin education, the need for community collaboration, and the road to global competency.
The program brought together 100 local Mandarin education and school administrators to learn about new language methodology and digital tools to reach teach savvy students and bolster students' engagement. Participants received two G/T hour from the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented for participation.
Keynote speaker Dr. Terry Grier, Houston I.S.D. superintendent addressed the need to do a better job of preparing Houston’s youth for the globally interconnected world and “the road to global competency.”
