Join Asia Society Texas for the opening of Hung Hsien: Between Worlds, a solo exhibition of the pioneering modern ink artist and Houston resident Hung Hsien (洪嫻, Margaret Chang, b. 1933). It celebrates the life and artistic legacy of one of the most important yet underrepresented contributors to the development of modern ink painting. The exhibition will be the artist’s first retrospective, surveying a career that spans more than 70 years, from her early years as a fledgling artist in Taiwan to her mature, signature cosmic abstractions..
Enjoy the opening reception in our Water Garden Terrace, and take a journey through the exhibition's more than 50 paintings that draw primarily from private collections and the artist’s personal archives.
This event is free and open to the public. RSVPs are requested.

She is supported by Dr. Einor Cervone, Associate Curator of Arts of Asia at the Denver Art Museum; Dr. Owen Duffy, Nancy C.
