2025 is the Year of the Snake — a symbol of wisdom, intuition, and transformation that also represents elegance, resilience, and mystery. Join Asia Society Texas in welcoming the Year of the Snake with performances, art and craft activities, a Lucky Lunar Mission, and food — all inspired by Lunar New Year traditions across Asia!
Celebrate the new year as traditional lion dancers perform outside on our festival lawn. Enjoy captivating Chinese music and dance performances, unleash your creativity with Lunar New Year-themed crafts, and embark on a Lucky Lunar Mission with a stop in our Space City: Art in the Age of Artemis exhibition!
This event is FREE and open to the public; registration is required and will be enforced for timed building entry at 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 1–4 p.m. Food and drink will be available for sale. Music and dance performances by Huaxing Arts Group Houston are ticketed ($12; 35% discount for AST members).

Enjoy energetic lion dance performances by Houston Shaolin Kung Fu Academy and Vien Thong Tu Lion Dance as part of your festival registration!

Ticketed Theater Performances
Spring Festival: Splendor of Huaxing | 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m.
TICKETS: $12 (35% discount for AST members)
Performances take place inside the Brown Foundation Performing Arts Theater. Each showtime features the same music and dance performances.
To celebrate the 2025 Lunar New Year, Huaxing Arts Group joins Asia Society Texas to present a collection of Chinese music and dnace! From modern interpretations of traditional tunes to classic folk dances, the performances highlight a variety of performers and dance styles.
Huaxing Arts Group is a civic organization of Chinese Americans in the Greater Houston Area. The association has served the greater community through volunteerism, service, and cultural exchange with a patriotic focus on strengthening the Chinese American community and its relationship with fellow citizens.

Day-Of Information
Our Lunar New Year 2025 festival is rain-or-shine. Most activities take place indoors. Lion dance performances are scheduled to take place outdoors.
Parking and Transportation
Paid parking ($10) is available in our lot across Southmore Boulevard. Entrances are located on Caroline Street and Austin Street. Bicycle racks are available in our parking lot for no cost.
Public transit is also available: Asia Society Texas is a five-minute walk from the Museum District METRO Rail Station (Red Line).
When You Arrive
All guests must check in at our tent before entering the building. Timed building entry is enforced.
No food or strollers inside the building. There will be outdoor eating areas where guests can enjoy food; stroller parking is located outside the front entrance.

About Lunar New Year at Asia Society Texas
Featuring music and dance performances as well as zodiac-inspired activities, our annual festival celebrates Lunar New Year traditions from across Asia. Free and open to the public, the all-ages event is one of Asia Society Texas' most popular programs, drawing roughly 2,000 guests each year.
