Designed to report on some aspects of the local impact of U.S.-Japan relations, Japan Update: The Japan-Houston Relationship in the New Japan-US Dynamic will feature experts from the U.S. and Japan commenting on the challenges, trends, and strategies shaping the U.S.-Japan alliance in the areas of security, trade and energy. Admiral Dennis Blair, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Sasakawa USA and the former director of U.S. National Intelligence and Commander in Chief of the U.S. Pacific Command will be the conference’s keynote speaker.
Other distinguished speakers at the conference include: Ambassador John Thomas Schieffer, former Ambassador of the United States to Japan; Marc Watts, Chair Pro Tem of the Board of Directors Houston Branch, Dallas Federal Reserve Bank and President, The Friedkin Group Inc.; Bob Harvey, President and CEO of the Greater Houston Partnership; Hisanori Nei, Professor at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies; Michelle Foss, Chief Energy Economist, Bureau of Economic Geology, University of Texas at Austin; George Avdey, President of Kuraray USA; and Tadashi Ishizuka, Chief Operating Officer of Mitsui & Co. LNG Investment USA, Inc.
