Indian Deities Writing Workshop
VIEW EVENT DETAILSIn partnership with Writers in the Schools, this writing workshop will focus on Asia Society Texas Center’s current exhibition, Transcendent Deities of India: Everyday Occurrence of the Divine. An expert-trained author will be your children’s teacher for this interactive session, encouraging young minds’ imagination and literary talents. This program will help visitors gain a greater connection to the artwork and learn to express themselves through the written word.
About the Author
A native Houstonian, Gayatri Parikh has taught writing at The University of Houston's Writing Center, Houston Community College, and the University of Houston-Clear Lake. As a grant writer for Writers in the Schools (WITS), she works with a creative, passionate community that helps children fall in love with reading and writing. An Indian-American writer, Gayatri believes that writing is a gift that can help us discover, examine, and own our stories.
