Fotofest 2018 Biennial Preview With Sunil Gupta

Mr. Gupta, a Delhi and London based artist, curator, and educator, will preview and discuss the upcoming FotoFest 2018 Biennial, dedicated to INDIA: Contemporary Photography and New Media Art.
About the Curator
Mr. Gupta has curated over 30 art exhibitions across four countries. For the FotoFest 2018 Biennial, he and Co-Curator Steven Evans, FotoFest Executive Director, have selected more than 45 artists from India and the Indian diaspora for presentation in Houston, March 10 – April 22, 2018. The presentation will be among the largest presentations of contemporary Indian photography in the United States. It will be the central exhibition of a citywide festival that will feature exhibitions of Indian art at the Asia Society Texas Center, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, and elsewhere in the city, alongside over 75 participating photography exhibitions at other spaces across the city.
About Fotofest
The FotoFest 2018 Biennial will be the Seventeenth International Biennial of Photography and New Media Art in Houston, and the continuation of the United States’ longest-running International photography event. Founded in 1986, FotoFest International is a non-profit photographic arts and education organization based in Houston, Texas. FotoFest promotes U.S. and international engagement with artists and ideas through museum-quality photo-based art from around the world. The first FotoFest Biennial was held in 1986. It is considered as one of the leading international photography Biennials in the world.
As an international platform for art and ideas, the FotoFest Biennials and FotoFest’s year-round programming have become known for the discovery and presentation of important new work and new talent from around the world. FotoFest has curated and commissioned exhibitions of photo-based art from Latin America, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
