Join Asia Society Texas for a 25th anniversary screening of Wong Kar-Wai’s iconic film In the Mood for Love. Simultaneously delicate and visually impactful, the film is a beautiful depiction of love, longing, and cherishing each moment. Set to an evocative soundtrack and stunning cinematography by Christopher Doyle and Mark Lee Ping-bin, Wong’s milestone film has stood the test of time to continually impact both filmmakers and audiences throughout the years.

About the Film

Set in 1962 Hong Kong, Chow Mo-wan (Tony Leung Chiu-Wai) and Su Li-Zhen (Maggie Cheung Man-Yuk) move into neighboring apartments on the same day. Their encounters are formal and polite — until a discovery about their spouses creates an intimate bond between them.

Spotlighting the traditions, talents, and contributions of Asians and Asian Americans, the calendar highlights the month's key Asia Society programming, providing a platform to showcase local artists, performers, educators, and leaders who contribute to the vibrant, multicultural tapestry of Houston while also featuring staff recommendations for our favorite music, books, movies, and more by Asian and Asian American creatives.
