ExploreAsia: Culture Camp for Kids

Attention, artists and manga fanatics! At this camp, create your own comics inspired by the Japanese manga style. Learn how comics are made, compete in sketching contests, and show off your work at camp Comic Con!
Recommended for students ages 9–12. Aftercare is available 3–5:30 p.m. for an additional fee.

Magical Kamishibai
Monday – Friday, June 10–14
Craft a story and build your own butai (storybook frame) to dive into a colorful world of your own making via the Japanese storytelling tradition of Kamishibai!
Recommended for students ages 7–12.
Video Game Maker with Writers in the Schools (WITS) Digital
Monday – Friday, June 17–21
In this design camp, bring your stories and poems to life, create video games, and dive into traditions from India, China, and Japan.
Recommended for students ages 9–12. Students must provide their own laptops (no tablets, please).
Amazing Asian Eats
Monday – Friday, July 29 – August 2
Travel across Asia as a globe-trotting foodie! Taste and cook foods from India, Thailand, China, Korea, and Japan, and create a food stand for an Asian night market!
Recommended for students ages 6–9. Not recommended for children with food allergies or food sensitivities.
K-pop Spectacular
Monday – Friday, August 5–9
Learn hot new choreography, dance the day away to the latest hits, and experience the life of a K-pop star!
Recommended for students ages 9–14.
