Ambassador Gary Locke to Speak at This Year’s CHINA Town Hall: Local Connections, National Reflections

Asia Society Texas Center, in partnership with the Houston Committee on Foreign Relations and the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, invites you to participate in the sixth annual CHINA Town Hall: Local Connections, National Reflections. Set for October 29, the Town Hall features a webcast of U.S. Ambassador Gary Locke speaking live from Beijing on the current state of U.S.-China relations.
Ambassador Locke’s 7:00 pm address will be preceded at 6:00 by a panel discussion, Houston and Higher Education: The China Connection. Top administrators from Rice University, University of Houston, and Texas Southern University will discuss the strategic partnerships their schools are developing with institutions in China and the benefits that accrue to Houston.

New York-based National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, which organizes CHINA Town Hall, reaches out to groups around the country to host a public viewing of the webcast and present a program exploring their city’s ties to China. Last year 51 venues in 47 cities in the U.S. and China participated in the Town Hall.
