Interested in the art and culture of Korea? This virtual after-school club will provide students with a fun and engaging way to learn more about Korean culture, art, and even language. For students ages 13–18, this club will cover basic Korean-language activities and introductory topics to various aspects of Korean culture.
Through the seven weeks, students will meet weekly on Zoom to engage in fun interactive lessons. Students will also get the chance to not only engage in Korean language practice but also explore different aspects of Korean culture, both traditional and contemporary, including music, dramas, literature, art, food, and history.
Ultimately, the goal of the club is to provide a nurturing space for students to come together over their interest in Korean culture, while sparking excitement for further engagement with Korean language and culture, both professionally and socially. The instructor will connect the lessons to large themes that can be explored later by the participants in future studies both formally and independently.
The club does not require prior knowledge of Korean to participate.
Scholarships are available for this club. To apply, please email your name and school information to Jennifer Kapral, Director of Education and Outreach, at [email protected].
