Discover the magic of theater in this puppetry mini camp! Learn about puppetry traditions across Indonesia, Taiwan, and Japan, then design and build your own puppets and discover how to use them to tell a story for an exciting camper performance.
Recommended for students ages 6–10.
Add-on: In our After-School A/V Club, campers will enjoy a snack and watch content related to the camp instruction, 3–5:30 p.m. daily.

Lights, Camera, Asia! Young Journalists Camp
Monday, June 9 – Friday, June 13, 2025・9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Daily
Become journalists, producers, and video editors! Learn how to research, write, and film your very own news or travel show about amazing countries and cultures across Asia. Team up with fellow campers to create cool video packages and discover how to craft stories that inspire and inform.
Recommended for students ages 9–12.
Manga POP!
Monday, July 7 – Friday, July 11, 2025・9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Daily
Artists and manga fanatics, unite! Create your own comics inspired by the Japanese manga style in this camp for students of all skill levels. Learn how comics are made and show off your work at Camp Comic-Con!
Recommended for students ages 9–14.
Tech and Tales: Stop-Motion and STEM
Monday, July 21 – Friday, July 25, 2025・9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Daily
Ignite your creativity to explore and innovate at this STEM and stop-motion animation camp! Design and animate stories inspired by Asian arts and cultures and using STEM concepts, with a showcase celebrating your stop-motion creations.
Recommended for students ages 9–12.
Education and Outreach programs at Asia Society Texas are presented by AARP, American First National Bank, The Freeman Foundation, Hugesen Polymers, Johanna and Bill Stewart, and Truist Foundation. Major support comes from Nancy C. Allen, Chinhui Juhn and Eddie Allen, The Brown Foundation, and Inc., Houston Endowment Inc. Generous funding also provided by the Susan Vaughan Foundation. Free Thursday exhibition admission presented by the Nyquist Family.
