HOUSTON, September 14, 2014 — After a stellar run of over four months and an audience of several thousand, Asia Society Texas Center closed Transcendent Deities of India: The Everyday Occurrence of the Divine. The exhibition ended on a high note with an talk by contemporary artist Abhishek Singh—whose work was featured in the Sarofim Gallery—in conversation with LACMA assistant curator Julie Romain. Texas Center Curator & Exhibitions Director Bridget Bray said, "Abhishek Singh’s artist talk ranged from his early work with Deepak Chopra and Shekhar Kapur to his current diverse projects. The youngest artist in the Transcendent Deities of India exhibition, Singh charmed the large audience with his striking works, philosophical approach, and personal warmth."
