Asia Society Texas Celebrates Dedicated Volunteers With Appreciation Dinner, New Spotlight Series
HOUSTON, July 1, 2024 — Asia Society Texas welcomed its dedicated volunteers for an annual appreciation dinner in April.
At the core of AST's mission is fostering connections across peoples and cultures, with approximately 150 programs, tours, and workshops made possible by the collective efforts of a community that extends beyond the staff to encompass partners, audience members, and an invaluable corps of more than 100 committed volunteers, docents, and interns. In AST's latest fiscal year, volunteers generously contributed more than 2,400 total hours and positively impacted the experiences of over 34,000 visitors, leaving a lasting impression on the communities and audiences served by AST's programming.
The organization takes immense pride in the strong volunteer community and hosts an annual dinner for volunteers who consistently participate in events and activities. This year's dinner, featuring fun activities and special tokens of appreciation, welcomed volunteers who contributed at least 7 hours over the past fiscal year. The occasion also served as a platform to honor the individuals who have gone above and beyond by volunteering more than 75 hours in their tenure:
- Shelley Finley
- Kim Nguyen
- Sarah Cloots
- Mustika Urbaningsih
- Johanna Brassert
- Sandy Luong
- Rylee Nguyen
- Jennie Szeto
