HOUSTON, May 2, 2016 — In an artist talk complementing the current exhibition We Chat: A Dialogue in Contemporary Chinese Art, Asia Society Texas Center welcomed Pixy Yijun Liao, a featured artist in the exhibition, and Barbara Pollack, guest curator of the exhibition, to join in conversation about Liao's photography series, Experimental Relationship, and the contemporary art of her peers that is currently coming from China. Pollack described her exploration of identity in this new generation of Chinese artists born after the Cultural Revolution, then spoke with Liao about her experience growing up in China as a female and how that experience has influenced her art.
