Asia Society at Home
Each week, we'll share a variety of videos, articles, webcasts, and more from around the web — all curated by Asia Society Texas Center staff to reflect the broad interests and goals of our mission. On Tuesdays, immerse yourself in music, dance, and more by innovative performing artists.
Livestream Series: Alone Together
Violinist Jennifer Koh performs the first in her commissioning project and concert series Alone Together. The launch features Wang Lu's "Hover and Recede," Joungbum Lee's "Hovering Green," Morgan Guerin's "Together, But Alone (In Quarantine)," and Vijay Iyer's "For Violin Alone." Performances are streamed live over Facebook and Instagram Saturday nights at 6 p.m. Central.
Podcast: Home Cooking
A new podcast by cook, teacher, and author Samin Nosrat (Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat) and podcast host and creator Hrishikesh Hirway, Home Cooking helps listeners figure out what to cook with what they already have at home during quarantine. Episodes so far have dealt with wide-ranging questions from the ongoing bean quandary (to soak or not to soak?) to creative baking when all-purpose flour is in low supply.
Livestream Classes: Weekly Meditation: The Power of Community
Director of the Jung Center's Mind Body Spirit Institute and student of Tibetan Buddhism since 1989, Alejandro Chaoul, Ph.D., will be leading complimentary meditation classes live online through the end of April.
