How relations between China, the U.S., and Europe are changing
China’s power and influence are increasing which changes its relationship with the U.S. and Europe. On September 20, 2017, Asia Society Switzerland held an event in Zurich on how these relations with China are changing. Two of the world’s leading China experts, Orville Schell –Arthur Ross Director of the Center for US-China Relations at Asia Society New York– and Sebastian Heilmann –founding president of the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS) in Berlin–, joined us for an insightful discussion on how different strategies compare in different areas such as trade, climate change, domestic politics, and security. Moderated by Jonas Projer, the host of the political talk show Arena, the topics that were discussed ranged from Switzerland’s relations with China to the current North Korea Crisis and the One Belt One Road Initiative.
