Let's start the year with a visit to an extraordinary exhibition at Museum Rietberg dedicated to Ragamala, a jewel of Indian miniature painting where music, poetry and painting fuse together.
This January, we have the great pleasure of inviting members of our VIP Community (Patrons, Passport Members and Corporate Members) to a private Art Tour of Ragamala: Pictures for All Senses at the Rietberg Museum in Zurich. Curator Sonika Soni and Deputy Director Johannes Beltz will lead us through the exhibition.
After the tour, you are warmly invited to stay on and continue the conversation in a relaxed atmosphere over drinks and light refreshments.

Sonika Soni is a guest curator at the Rietberg Museum, Zurich. She is currently engaging in the scientific analysis of traditional Indian paintings with a special focus on the "Ragamala", i.e. paintings illustrating classical Indian music. She is a GBF 2021 fellow at the Rietberg Museum, Zurich and an IFA 2012 grant awardee of India. Her Masters' degree is in Art History from the Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU Baroda, and a post graduate diploma in Museology and Conservation from CSMVS, Mumbai. She has worked on a number of royal and private art collections including the Kasturbhai Lalbhai and City Palace Museums in Jaipur and Udaipur. Some of her published essays appear in Gauri Dancers (Mapin, India), Painting and Photography at the Jaipur Court (Niyogi Books), and The Indian Portrait-VIII (Archer). (Picture: ©Rainer Wolfsberger)
Johannes Beltz is the deputy director and the head of curatorship at the Rietberg Museum. He is also the curator for exhibitions portraying art from India and Southeast Asia. Besides his engagements at the Rietberg Museum, he is lecturer for Buddhism and Hinduism at PHZH for the teacher training program.
