Executive Roundtable: Japan after Shinzo Abe
VIEW EVENT DETAILSExecutive Roundtable with Prof. David Chiavacci [PASSPORT MEMBERS ONLY]
With former prime minister Shinzo Abe's successor inaugurated, a chapter of monumental significance within Japan's political history has ended. Yoshihide Suga is now faced with the gargantuan task of regaining the public's trust in the face of the previous cabinet's pandemic response, and bringing the country's economy back on track. What is Abe's legacy, and will his successor be able to continue on his path? Will the post of prime minister return to a game of musical chairs, as it had been customary prior to Abe and Koizumi? What does this mean for the country's political and economic development?
This event is for Passport Members of Asia Society only. How to become a Passport member?
We are joined by Professor of Social Science of Japan at the University of Zurich, David Chiavacci. He is the department's expert on Japanese politics, civil society and demographics.
