Alicia García Herrero, Chief Economist for Asia Pacific at Natixis; Yumiko Murakami, General Partner at MPower Partners Fund, L.P.; and Garima Mohan, Senior Fellow in the Indo-Pacific Program at the German Marshall Fund of the United States discuss the potential trajectories for the economies of Japan, China, and India, as recorded at our annual STATE OF ASIA conference on November 7, 2024.

Alicia García Herrero is the Chief Economist for Asia Pacific at Natixis. She also serves as Senior Fellow at European think-tank BRUEGEL and non-resident Research Fellow at National University of Singapore's think tank, East Asia Institute. Alicia is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Finally, Alicia is a member of the Advisory Committee for Economic Affairs of the Spanish Government as well as an advisor to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s research arm (HKIMR).

Garima Mohan is Senior Fellow in the Indo-Pacific Program, German Marshall Fund of the United States, where she leads the work on India and heads the India Trilateral Forum. Her research focuses on Europe-India ties, EU foreign policy in Asia, and security in the Indo-Pacific.

Yumiko Murakami is the former head of the OECD Tokyo Centre and has worked in the global financial industry for 20 years, mostly as a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs in New York, London and Tokyo. She is a leading authority on a wide range of economic policy issues such as corporate governance, tax guidelines, diversity, education, trade and innovation. She sits on several Government advisory panels, including the Council for the Realisation of a New Form of Capitalism, an economic policy introduced by Japan's former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
