Meet with and learn from a high-ranking delegation from Vietnam. The delegation will discuss the opportunities and potentials of doing business with and in Vietnam. Vietnam has been a WTO member since 2007 and is an active participant in the ongoing Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations. By 2015 Vietnam is anticipated to achieve significant regional integration with other ASEAN nations as the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) comes into effect. We will discuss what these and other factors mean for U.S. companies wanting to do business in Vietnam and ASEAN. The program will also look at the Binh Duong Province, an important driver of the country’s economy and an important provider of opportunities for U.S. companies.
Binh Duong Province is strategically located near Ho Chi Minh City in the Southern Key Economic Zone (SKEZ), which accounted for more than 70 percent of the country’s export revenue in the last several years. The province is advantageous for U.S. companies that want to access Vietnam because of its proximity to Ho Chi Minh City and its competitive cost of doing business.
Becamex is Vietnam’s largest industrial park developer and operator and has contributed substantially to the economic development of Binh Duong Province. Current major projects of Becamex include the Binh Duong New City, a mega-project with many opportunities for U.S. corporations.
