Asia Society Southern California presented a special screening of Ash is Purest White, followed by a Q&A with Jia Zhangke, one of China's most critically acclaimed directors. The post-screening Q&A was moderated by Michael Berry, a UCLA Professor of Contemporary Chinese Cultural Studies. Berry’s areas of research include modern and contemporary Chinese literature, Chinese cinema, popular culture in modern China and literary translation.
