"South Asia Snapshot": A New Newsletter from Asia Society Policy Institute
Monday, October 7, 2024 – Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) has launched a new email newsletter entitled “South Asia Snapshot.” Each month, Farwa Aamer, ASPI’s Director of South Asia Initiatives, will dive into the region’s key policy developments to provide readers with an insightful look into a region that continues to make profound strides. The Snapshot will help readers understand not only what’s happening in South Asia, but why it matters.
“The launch of South Asia Snapshot is a testament to the growth of our South Asia Initiatives program under Farwa and the ASPI team in New Delhi. The monthly newsletter will provide critical insights into what is happening in the region and it is a great addition to the wide range of mediums that we use to showcase the research happening at ASPI,” says Rorry Daniels, Managing Director of ASPI.
In the first iteration of South Asia Snapshot, Farwa analyzes the state of India and U.S. relations after the Quad Summit in Delaware; discusses the meeting that Modi had with Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of UNGA; digs into the new political chapter unfolding in Bangladesh; draws attention to the threat of climate change as presented by regional leaders at the UN; and talks about the outcomes of the presidential elections in Sri Lanka their significance for India and China.
