Event Recap: What the First Ninety Days Reveal About the Future of U.S.-China Relations
April 21, 2025 – Asia Society Seattle hosted an executive roundtable discussion on the future of US-China relations concerning the first ninety days of the Trump administration. The discussion featured Mark Cohen, Senior Tech Fellow at the Asia Society Northern California & Seattle and the Asia Society Policy Institute, and Gary Rieschel, Chair of Asia Society Northern California & Seattle & Founding Managing Partner at Qiming. Topics include technology development in the material and life sciences, education, tariffs and intellectual property (IP), technology transfer, and the role of legal frameworks in trade and technology. Roundtable guests also raised questions about innovation and tariff issues, implications for current policies in the US-China collaboration, and trade relations.
