Event Recap - SAM Talks 2: Seattle Speaker Series

On February 20, 2025, Asia Society Seattle hosted its second lecture of SAM Talks: Asia Society Seattle Speaker Series. This series is designed and dedicated to promoting understanding of Asia and the Asia diaspora.
Asia Society Seattle welcomed Grammy award-winning, violin maestro Ganesh Rajagopalan, accompanying musician Sriram Ramesh, and moderator Sital Kalantry, Founder & Director of the RoundGlass India Center at Seattle University, for an evening of conversation and musical performance. Ganesh played violin Carnatic music. Topics Ganesh spoke about include the impact of Indian cultural fusion on his journey as a violinist, the opportunities to collaborate with great musicians, his experience in joining Shakti, a brief history of the Carnatic violin, his current teaching career, and acknowledging the emotional and spiritual connection produced by music.
