Pierre Andrieu
Senior Fellow on China-Russia Relations, Center for China Analysis

Pierre Andrieu is a Non-Resident Senior Fellow on China-Russia Relations at the Asia Society Policy Institute’s Center for China Analysis.
He began his long diplomatic career in the Asia Division of the Quai d’Orsay, overseeing China, Hong Kong, and Mongolia. After five years at the French Embassy in Russia, he served as ambassador to Tajikistan and Moldova. As the French co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, he oversaw the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Mr. Andrieu currently teaches international relations at various French universities and abroad as an external professor. He also works with foreign policy institutes, publishes research, and is the author of Géopolitique des relations russo-chinoises [The Geopolitics of Russo-Chinese Relations] (Presses universitaires de France, 2023).
