Gl-ESCR employs a human rights lens to tackle social and economic injustice. It works to secure every person and community’s economic, social, and cultural rights, among other human rights. 

It focuses on renewable energy and gender justice; education, health, and water; the right to adequate housing; women's economic and social rights, with a specific focus on their access to land and productive resources; and extraterritorial obligations.
