Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA)
MFA is the main ministry in charge of the Chinese Government’s foreign policy and engagement with overseas counterparts and international organizations. It protects and promotes Chinese interests around the world, ensuring that the facilitation of foreign aid adheres to the Chinese Government’s geopolitical objectives. Although MFA is less involved in the day-to-day operations of the BRI, it addresses issues when particular projects require diplomatic intervention and assistance.
