Lucia Lavric
Associate Director, Carbon Markets

Lucia Lavric is Associate Director of Carbon Markets at the Asia Society Policy Institute, where she develops and delivers projects to support the introduction and implementation of emission trading systems (ETSs) in major Asian economies, and other climate and energy policies. Her work includes the assessment of competitiveness, carbon leakage and economic impacts of these policies.
Lucia has been working on climate mitigation and energy economics projects related to more than twenty-five countries around the world since 2001. She has contributed to or led consultancy projects for organizations such as the European Commission, EuropeAid, the German Development Agency, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank, UN Development Programme, and UK Government bodies. This included multiple impact assessments and ex-post evaluations to support the development of ETSs in the EU and internationally.
Lucia holds an MSc in Economics, with Merit, and an MSc in Environmental Sustainability, Distinction, both from the University of Edinburgh. She has published on the interaction between climate mitigation policy, international trade and industrial relocation.
