An Intimate Look at Maestro Botero
It was a celebration of the Colombian artist whose life was just as colorful as his artwork as Asia Society, in partnership with Manila House and the Philippine Tatler, held "Botero in Asia" on January 31st, 2018.
The metro's most respectable names gathered at The Manila House, BGC, for a presentation by the late artist's son, Fernando Botero Zea, who discussed his father's background and showcased his brilliant masterpieces. Afterwards, a short moderated discussion led by the Ayala Museum's Mariles Gustilo allowed the audience to get to know the artist on a more intimate level.
Fernando Botero is a Colombian artist known for his paintings and sculptures of happy, inflated humans and animal shapes. His vivid artwork has reached audiences across the globe.
