Eyes on Asia: Singapore
May 2021— Asia Society Philippines brought back their Eyes on Asia series with Eyes on Singapore, a 2-part digital event, 21 May and 28 May, exploring the small but mighty country from the importance of art in Singaporean's culture and what has the country done in dealing with the pandemic as well as forging to this new normal.
Last 21 May, Asia Society Philippines, together with the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) hosted #HeartforArt Conversation, featuring Gaurav Kripilani, SIFA's Director and Asia 21 Darwin Mariano. They talked about the current state of art and the integral role arts play during these disrupted times. Full conversation can be watched below.
For the second part of Eyes on Singapore, last 28 May, Asia Society Philippines partnered with Singapore Tourism Board, supported by Manila House, in bringing updates about Singapore. In this closed event, where members got a taste of Kueh, a Singaporean delicacy, Ruby Liu, Area Director of STB Philippines, discussed about the current events happening surrounding Singapore and the measures the country is taking as it opens to the world once again.
