Transparency 5.0: From Theory to Action
VIEW EVENT DETAILSAs technology continues evolving at breakneck pace, the conversation about transparency has only become louder and louder. In early November 2016, the world witnessed the U.S. Presidential Election, which was dominated by issues of government transparency, from email servers to tax returns. Over the past few years, there have also been timely discussions within Philippine shores about freedom of information, and about the advent of Open Governance—or the idea that government should allow greater access to its data, and that it must submit itself to greater public scrutiny.
On December 5, 2016, Asia Society and the International Center for Innovation, Transformation and Excellence in Governance (INCITEGov) will host Transparency 5.0: From Theory to Action, a multi-sectoral forum on harnessing modern mediums to effect positive change at a time when the roles and relationships of government, media, and citizens are evolving.
