Holi Festival 2018
VIEW EVENT DETAILSAsia Society Philippines, the Embassy of India, Federation of the Indian Chambers of Commerce (Phils), Indian Ladies Club, and SM by the BAY, warmly invite you to the HOLI FESTIVAL 2018 on 18 March 2018, 3:30 to 7:30 PM, at North Fountain, SM by the BAY.
Holi is an annual festival celebrating the arrival of spring in a high energy, colorful and vibrant manner. Celebrated in India since ancient times, Holi is a vibrant Hindu festival of colors that is held to mark the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. Uniquely characterized by the lively shades of colored powder thrown up in the air (and at fellow festival-goers), the Holi 2018 is Manila’s own celebration of Indian music, cuisine, and culture. Asia Society Philippines started public celebrations of Holi in the Philippines in 2013. Each year, we also see more and more Filipinos sharing in the festivities with the Indian community.
Holi 2018 gives the two communities a chance to come together not just to dance and celebrate, but also to learn more about each other. It ties back to Asia Society Philippines’ mission—Holi 2018 is a concrete and fun example of Asia Society Philippines’ mission of creating greater understanding between cultures. Holi 2018 highlights Filipino and Indian traditions, particularly India’s rich cuisine, games and holiday activities, with many Filipino and Indian community groups performing.
