Prospects for Cooperation and Regional Public Goods in the South China Sea

Join us for a high-level discussion/forum on issues linked to the West Philippine Sea and South China Sea, led by panel of issue experts. Depending on feedback and interest, this will serve as the first forum in a discussion series featuring research and expert opinions on issues around the Philippines, China and ASEAN.


  • Sen. Letty Shahani — on possible regional/multilateral approaches in light of opportunities in ASEAN and other forums
  • Chito Sta. Romana — on possible complementary bilateral strategy in light of China's history of engagement in the region
  • Sec. Raffy Alunan — on possible Philippine policies and strategies to help boost bargaining prospects and leverage over time
  • DFA Representative — on the prospects for ASEAN cooperation in light of the talks on the Code of Conduct and the next ASEAN meeting.
