YPG 2014 Dragon Boat Team
VIEW EVENT DETAILSJoin the ASNC Young Professionals Group for a weekend of world-class dragon boat racing on the San Francisco Bay as a member of the YPG Dragonflies!
Hosted on Treasure Island, the San Francisco International Dragon Boat Festival is the largest competitive dragon boat festival in the United States. In addition to the boat races, the Festival also includes cultural performances, activities for all ages, and the Bay Area's favorite food trucks.
Details: The ASNC YPG Dragonflies will be participating in the Novice Division of the Festival on Saturday, September 20. The Novice Division race time has not been announced yet, but the day's activities start at 8:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM.
Teams are made up of a minimum of 20 paddlers, with at least 40% women.
There will be 3 practice sessions held at Lake Merced before the race day event. Dates for training will be sent to the Dragonflies paddlers at a later date. Participation in practices is not required but highly encouraged!

Participation Fee: Participation on the team costs $20 per team member, payable to Asia Society Northern California. Your fee includes the training sessions, a steerer and drummer on the boat, all equipment, and snacks at our Dragonflies tent the day of the race.
